Swift gave Maya Thompson, Ronan’s mother, co-writing credits because she wrote the song based around Maya Thompson’s blog, RockstarRonan.com. The lyrics were pulled directly from stories off of the site. With lyrics like “what if I kept the hand-me-downs you won’t grow into?/ And what if I really thought some miracle would see us through?/What if the miracle was even getting one moment with you,” it is clear that she really got behind what the song meant.
