Top 10 Leonardo DiCaprio Movies

5. 'The Quick and the Dead'

One of DiCaprio’s early films, he starred opposite Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe and Gene Hackman. Stone also co-produced the film. Set in 1881, in the Old West town of Redemption, DiCaprio played “The Kid,” a young gunfighter and gun shop owner who believed Hackman’s character, Herrod, was his father and wanted to earn his respect by winning the gun fighting contest Herrod had set up in the town as a way to control its residents. DiCaprio gave “The Kid” lightheartedness despite all the pain and death around him. “The Kid” befriended Stone’s character of The Lady and ultimately died in her arms from wounds suffered from a gun duel with Herrod, who still wouldn’t acknowledge him as his son. It was a small yet memorable role for DiCaprio and showed early on that he had some serious dramatic acting chops.
