7. 'The Departed'
This 2006 crime drama was yet another film DiCaprio starred in that was directed by Martin Scorsese. It was a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Scorsese won the Academy Award for Best Director. Co-starring with some of Hollywood’s royalty such as Mark Wahlberg, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon and Martin Sheen, DiCaprio played Billy Costigan, a police academy cadet asked to go undercover in the mob. DiCaprio’s depiction of a cop who wanted to take down the bad guys amidst lies, deception and murder was dazzling.
