9. The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby is a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and was published in 1925. It tells the story of millionaire Jay Gatsby, and his mysterious life and love for Daisy Buchanan. This novel received many film adaptations over the years, but the 2013 film, directed by Baz Luhrmann, had great theatrics as well as great acting, truly bringing Fitzgerald's fictional town of West Egg to life.
