6. The King’s Speech (2010)

This biopic chose to portray only a small period of King George VI’s life: then he had to work to overcome his speech impediment. Both the writing and Colin Firth’s portrayal of the British king made this film both sincere and powerful. This is not a film about George’s kingly power; it is about his insecurities and uncertainties while still employing humor, which makes it unique and also a very well done biopic.
