5) 10 Things I Hate About You, 1999
Based off of the Shakespearean play The Taming of the Shrew, 10 Things I Hate About You is about a young boy who is dying to date the hottest girl in school, but unfortunately she can’t date until her mean feminist older sister does. The boy recruits bad boy Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to date Kat (Julia Styles).
