Showtime announced that the network has renewed new show Masters of Sex for a second season while Homeland will be getting a fourth season.
Both shows will get 12 episodes for their next season, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Showtime entertainment president David Nevins said, "Homeland continues to prove its strength for Showtime, and is one of television's most exciting, provocative and widely-discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons."
Nevins said of the Michael Sheen-led show, "The critical and audience reaction Masters of Sex since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying. It's a privilege to get to work with such talented and creative people as Alex Gansa and Michelle Ashford, as well as their tremendous casts."
Variety reports that both shows getting renewals is hardly surprising. Both have done well in audience numbers, and Masters has been getting critically lauded.
Showtime says that Homeland is averaging 6.5 million viewers a week, including repeats and streaming, which is an increase of 26 percent from its second season. Masters follows close behind with 5.4 million viewers a week.
