5. Bridget Jones's Diary
The one that started it all! This 2001 romantic comedy based on Helen Fielding's novel of the same name, introduced moviegoers to Bridget Jones, played by the always versatile Renée Zellweger. Grant played Daniel Cleaver, Jones’ boss, who she began an affair with but who ultimately broke her heart with his caddish ways. Grant played the suave yet duplicitous Cleaver to a tee and Grant’s fight scene with Colin Firth’s Mark Darcy over Bridget’s affections will undoubtedly go down as one of the most geeky and all-around weeny fight scenes in Hollywood history, but it was entertaining just the same!
