The mystery of the creepy children’s book left by the bed of X-Men actress Famke Janssen has been solved, according to report.
The entire story was pretty creepy. Last month, Janssen reported to police that she had found a copy of Dare Wright’s 1957 book The Lonely Doll, which is illustrated using black & white images of a doll. She had just returned to her NYC apartment and found the book there, but said she didn’t own a copy. There were no signs of a forced entry, even though Janssen is the only one with a key.
Janssen never issued a comment on the incident.
Now the New York Post reports that detectives believe that the book was actually hers. According to the paper’s sources, there was a to-do list found in the book with her name on it.
The detectives “believe that the book belongs to Famke,” the source told the Post. “The book has some connection to her home.”
The report notes that police found no evidence that there was a break-in, even after looking over the surveillance tapes. They also didn’t find any fingerprints on the book.
Apparently, Janssen genuinely believes that someone did break into her apartment and left the book behind, so she will not be charged for filing a false police report, the Post’s source said.
