3. Boy Meets World (1993-2000)
The Matthews family is one that truly stuck in the hearts of Americans. As the “boy” Cory Matthews, played by Ben Savage, met “the world” and its challenges, Americans grew up with him and his family from his middle school years, through high school, college, and beyond. The relationships between Cory and his family, as well as his nuclear group of friends were relatable and touching to most viewers. The Matthews family made up of husband and wife, Allan and Amy, and kids Eric, Cory, and Morgan the five face the challenges of growing up and growing old together, with special relationships to Cory’s best friend, Shawn Hunter, life-long girlfriend Topanga Lawrence, and neighbor/principle George Feeney who perhaps taught America the most lessons. This sitcom family explored issues at home, in school, between classes, and in the real world.
