9. Less Than Zero: In this 1987 romantic drama, Downey played Julian, a drug addicted rich kid in over his head. Downey plays the wasted best friend of Andrew McCarthy’s character beautifully. Though ultimately, Downey’s character dies, his portrayal of a guy who just couldn’t get out from under his drug habit was riveting.
