The beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow and funnyman Jason Alexander teamed up with Black in this hysterical 2001 fantasy comedy. Black played Hal Larson, a superficial guy, who was only interested in women for their looks. Then, Black’s Larson gets trapped in an elevator with life coach Tony Robbins, who hypnotized him into only seeing the inner beauty of a person. Larson subsequently falls for Paltrow’s character, Rosemary, who he saw as a thin, gorgeous model-type woman when in reality, she was incredibly fat. Moviegoers were taken in as Black fell for a woman who everyone else saw as huge but who he adored because he saw her inner loveliness. If you want to see a movie about transformation and the power of true inner beauty, this is it!
