1946's Disney live action movie Song of the South may not be a well-known Disney movie, but the song certainly is. Written by Allie Wrubel and Ray Gilbert and sung by James Baskett, the song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Not only is this song featured in Song of the South, but it can also be heard at the beginning and end of several movies. "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" also serves as the main theme song for the Disney World theme park ride Splash Mountain. It has easily become a part of our culture - I mean, who out there hasn't ever hummed this song to themselves?
