Sam Baker’s sweet sixteen birthday endures everything that could possibly go wrong. Her special day and night is ruined when her family forgets about her birthday because of her older sister’s upcoming wedding. To make things worse, she is love-struck by the unbelievably attractive senior, Ryan, who somehow ends up with the results of a “sex quiz” Baker took and seemingly lost, revealing her virginity and love for him. The epic ‘80s love scene here that champions the rest is at the end of a Ryan’s party, when he befriends “The Geek” or Ted, who also crushes hard on Baker. The two make a deal that results in Jake keeping Baker’s panties, and Ted driving Jake’s drunk girlfriend home in his father’s Rolls Royce. When he finds the two together later, he breaks up with Caroline (who has now fallen for Ted anyway) and Ryan drives to Sam’s sister’s wedding, where the two kiss passionately afterward, of course, over a birthday cake with 16 candles. Ryan showed unlucky 16-year-old girls everywhere that there is hope and that the senior CAN fall for the underclassman and live happily ever after.
