Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America and many other Marvel heroes may be headed to a town near you. Marvel and the Hero Ventures entertainment company announced an ambitious $30 million project called The Marvel Experience that will tour across the country with rides and an interactive tour.
The interactive roadshow will have a 4D motion ride as the centerpiece, notes USA Today, as well as other attractions with the popular Marvel heroes. Live Nation chairman Michael Cohl and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark co-producer Jeremiah Harris are leading the producing team.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 3D animated features will also be screened and plenty of merchandise will be available. There will also be hologram projection displays and motion-comics within the 50,000-sq. ft. dome that will travel to 20-24 cities.
“Hero Ventures is developing a themed entertainment concept that we expect will be a transformative, traveling destination that will deliver to fans and families an exciting, groundbreaking and unique experience,” Marvel vp business development Sean Haran stated.
"The dynamic creative elements we're developing are going to enable anyone to feel like a superhero like Spider-Man or Captain America," Hero Ventures CEO Rick Licht commented. "We couldn't be more excited about our partnership with Marvel. Kids and adults are going to be absolutely inspired, empowered and thrilled from start to finish.”
THR noted that the schedule and ticket information will be announced soon.
Disney also recently announced plans for a Thor ride at Disneyland timed for the release of Thor: The Dark World.
