A&E’s Duck Dynasty has become such a success that the network relented when the cast asked for a major raise before the upcoming season.
Back in March, it was reported that the hit reality show’s cast was asking for $200,000 per episode before they would agree to do a fourth season. Deadline reports that they got exactly what they wanted, which is four to five times as much as what the Robertson family was previously earning from the show. The $200,000-per-episode earnings will be split between the nine adults and 11 children on the show.
The deal also includes an option for another season.
Duck Dynasty centers on the lives of the Robertsons, who own a multi-million dollar empire that manufactures duck calls and sporting equipment in Louisiana. The third season drew 8.6 million viewers and third season finale is the most watched A&E telecast ever, drawing 9.6 million viewers.
The Robertsons’ popularity has reached such heights that Willie Robertson is reportedly being urged by Louisiana Republicans to run for a Congressional seat.
