In 2005, Daniel Powter was the only solo artist without a previous Hot 100 single to hit No. 1 that year with his song, “Bad Day.” The track became a sensation, being heavily featured in American Idol’s fifth season, and even received a Grammy nomination in 2007 for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His following singles failed to reach the same success, and he never appeared on the Hot 100 chart in the United States again.
