Top 10 Boyz II Men Songs

2. “End of the Road”

Co-written and produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, while touring in 1992, the guys came back to the studio to record this song for the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy comedy Boomerang. It would become the band’s biggest hit and remained at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-setting 13 weeks. The song’s lyrics talk about a woman the guys can’t seem to let go of, despite her leaving, and how they must face that their relationship has come to an end. The lyrics are heartbreaking as the guys croon lines like, “Why do you play with my heart?/Why do you play with my mind?/Said we’d be forever/Said it’d never die/How could you love me and leave me/And never say goodbye?...Although we’ve come to the end of the road/Still I can’t let you go/It’s unnatural you belong to me, I belong to you.” It’s the ultimate breakup song and endures to this day.
