Sandler and Barrymore lit up the screen in this 1998 romantic comedy. Set in the 1980s, Sandler played Robbie Hart, a wedding singer who falls in love with Julia Sullivan (Barrymore), a waitress at the reception hall he regularly performs at. Though both are engaged to other people when they meet, their sweet personalities, unworthy significant others and Billy Idol make them see that they’re perfect for each other. What moviegoer wasn’t moved as Robbie sang a song he wrote especially for Julia titled “Grow Old with You” on his way to stop her from marrying her philandering fiancé Glen? With such endearing lyrics as, “I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches/Build you a fire if the furnace breaks/Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you/I'll miss you/Kiss you/Give you my coat when you are cold/Need you/Feed you/Even let ya hold the remote control.” How could you not fall in love with Sandler’s Robbie Hart and this movie!
