Remember the nightclub brawl between Drake and Chris Brown that was allegedly over Rihanna last summer? Well, that entire incident is still ongoing, at least in the courts. A $16 million lawsuit filed by club owners against the two R&B stars has been dismissed.
Back in August 2012, two months after the brawl, Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., the company that owned the Greenhouse club, filed the suit against the singers. However, Greenhouse isn’t where the fight took place - it occurred at the W.i.P. club next door. That didn’t stop EEL from filing the suit though.
EEL claimed that they showed “gross negligence” by showing up at the club at the same time and ordering their entourages to go after each other. The company claimed that the fight still damaged their club. They were hoping to get $16 million (which is actually less than the $20 million Tony Parker is hoping for after his eye was injured).
But TMZ has just reported that a New York judge has thrown out the lawsuit. The judge agreed with Drake, who said he shouldn't be held accountable for how the media covered the fight. Plus, the judge said, Drake and Brown didn’t owe it to EEL to behave, especially since the fight wasn’t even at Greenhouse. EEL also can’t just sue whenever a nightclub brawl happened, since it would be filing a lawsuit a lot if it did.
In February, it was reported that Brown and drake were trying to get a judge to put the blame on one of them for starting the fight, since a male model’s lawsuit over injuries in the fight is still ongoing.
