9. Jim (James Eckhouse) and Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestley) in Beverly Hills, 90210
Though the father character left the show at the end of its fifth season, JIm Walsh was a major character in his son’s life. He was always there for him when things weren’t easy for Brandon, encouraging him to do the right thing. He was also a stern parent when Brandon needed it. But most importantly, Jim Walsh was immensely proud of his son, and perhaps his most vocal admirer when Brandon reached a huge accomplishment, whether he was voted Student Body President, a co-editor in chief of the high school newspaper, led a protest to allow one of his friends to graduate, or was appointed to the Presidential Task Force and traveled to D.C. to meet the president of the United States. Jim was a true Proud Papa every time.
