Nik Wallenda marks next conquest outside of Grand Canyon

High wire daredevil Nik Wallenda has marked his next challenge- walking across a tight rope stretched across the Little Colorado River Gorge suspended 1,500 feet in the air.

Wallenda will attempt to walk a third of a mile across the river, Sunday, starting on the Navajo reservation near the boundaries of the Grand Canyon National Park, The Associated Press.

The event will air live with a 10 second delay when he makes his trip across the Gorge. The Skywire website has a countdown to the walk.

Wallenda has always been open about his determination in succeeding in the death-defying walks. He explains that the only thing he fears is “God” and that he will “absolutely” be looking town as he makes his third of a mile walk.

The seventh generation daredevil previously cheated death when he walked 1,800 feet above the Earth crossing the Niagra Fallslast June. In January he walked 180 feet across a Sarasota, Florida highway.
