The smell of rich mahogany and the scent of Sex Panther are coming to the Newseum in Washington, DC. To celebrate the release of Anchorman: The Legend Continues, the museum of journalism is teaming up with Paramount pictures for Anchorman: The Exhibit.
The Newseum announced that the exhibit will feature 1970s costumes, props and scenes from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Will Ferrell’s 2004 cult hit that spawned the sequel.
Anchorman: The Exhibit opens on Nov. 14, 2013, just before The Legend Continues opens on Dec. 20, 2013. Visitors will get to see the exhibit through Aug. 31, 2014.
While Burgundy said, “I'm literally trapped in a glass case of emotion” over the announcement, the museum didn’t confirm if that glass case of emotion would be on display. However, the items that will definitely be on display include Burgundy’s jazz flute, rival Arturo Mendez’s whip (seen in use here), the KVWN-TV news set with anchor desk and the costumes the Channel 4 News Team wore in the film.
The original Anchorman starred Christina Applegate, Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Paul Rudd. They are all returning for the sequel, while Harrison Ford and Kristen Wiig are joining the cast.
