At the heart of this rom-com was the story of a hard-working mom trying to just provide a better life for her son than the one she grew up having. Whether she is making sure that he is always watched after, or giving him advice on a speech he needs to give, she is always putting her son first. This is an act that doesn’t go unnoticed by Ty. At the end of the movie, Ty himself orchestrates the reunion between his mother and her love interest. Not many young kids would do that for a parent.
