Gil Scott-Heron, often referred to as “the Godfather of Rap,” died Friday at a hospital in Manhattan at 62 years old. Gil-Scott Heron is most well known for his ‘70s song, “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.” Tupac Shakur, Common and Kanye West have featured the song in samples of their own music.
