Although it was circling around the rumor circuit throughout the last couple of days, Emma Stone will not be playing Mary Jane in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel. People.com reports that she will still play a love interest of Peter Parker’s – but before Mary Jane came along. Stone will play Parker’s girlfriend before MJ – Gwen Stacy. The Easy A actress was chosen for the role of Gwen on account of her amazing chemistry with Andrew Garfield, 27, who will play Parker and Spiderman. Director Marc Webb says, "The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice.” Webb went on to reveal that Stone’s natural hair color is not red, and that she will be returning to her natural roots for the part. "Much to my surprise, it was fun to find out that our choice for Gwen – Emma – is also a natural blonde," he says. The film will begin shooting in December and debut in 3-D on July 3, 2012.
