George Strait: Artist of the Decade

Country Singer Garth Brooks has decided to perform 15 concert dates in Las Vegas.

The venue in Las Vegas for the shows will be the Encore Theater owned by Wynn Resorts. Encore holds about 1,602 seats, and the tour will kick off on December 11. Brooks will perform three nights in a row, and then six shows in January and six in February.

Brooks retired back in 2001 due to a vow he made to his three daughters, which he would tour no longer. He wanted to be with his kids, and this limited concert series is the perfect way for him to do exactly that. He has won 11 Country Music Association Awards, 2 Grammys and has sold a total of 128 million albums.

At a press conference, Brooks wearing his go-to cowboy hat, and sitting next to Steve Wynn who owns the casino; stated that "I am naturally nervous, but it feels good to be out from under the low ceiling of retirement I put on myself" as reported on Reuters.com.
