I Cannot Believe This Happened!

'Huawei': A foreshadowing name?

Chinesepod's Carlie discusses the meaning of the name 'Huawei' in light of the recent national security concerns of the Whitehouse

Today was a very interesting day for the news world. When I heard or read that these events occurred, all I could do is shake my head and say, "I cannot believe that happened!"

Tyra Banks Struts Naked in N.Y. (kind of): Model/talk show host Tyra Banks was seen strutting her stuff in New York's Union Square on Monday. The purpose of her stripping down to only a body suit (so she was not actually naked) is to promote her upcoming season of "The Tyra Banks Show." She's saying that this season is going to be about "celebrating inner and outer beauty and owning and rocking what you've got," according to Stuff Online. I think it's an excellent idea for a model to talk about being comfortable in one's own skin. Body issue or issues is very prominent among women in today's society and it feels great to turn on the television to see that someone is being proactive about the situation and not reactive about the situation.

Steve Harvey Joining "Good Morning America": It seems like Steve Harvey has done it all. He's been on the road with his own comedy show, had a television show, has a radio show entitled "The Steve Harvey Show," and also wrote a #1 New York Times Best Seller "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man." Although when you think Harvey has done it all, it turns out he has not, and him joining "Good Morning America" proves it. He will be joining the cast of "Good Morning America" this week and his report will deal with several topics such as relationships and parenting. I am looking forward to seeing Steve Harvey's blinding white smile on ABC's "Good Morning America" because his personality (and humor) will add a sort of style to "Good Morning America" that probably has not been seen before.

Archie Is Marrying Veronica: I am writing about this because I am an avid Archie comic reader. So, when I heard that Archie has proposed to the snobby, rich Veronica I was (naturally) upset. I like Veronica as a character, but I always felt that Archie should be with girl-next-door Betty. Clearly, the comic company that produces Archie Comics has something up their sleeve because for those who know Archie, we all know that he and Veronica will probably get a divorce in the 6th issue.
