'Huawei': A foreshadowing name?

Chinesepod's Carlie discusses the meaning of the name 'Huawei' in light of the recent national security concerns of the Whitehouse

It's amazing how we all yearn for what we cannot have and that is precisely why everyone is talking about little baby Suri Cruise.

I remember ever since the paparazzo discovered Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were expecting, a serious countdown began and photographers were swinging from the trees in order to snap a shot of the newborn baby. However, within days after Shiloh-Nouvel Jolie-Pitt's birth, Pitt & Jolie sold their baby pictures for charity and suddenly, all the madness abruptly stopped and no one cared about it anymore.

As of Wednesday, it has been 85 days since anyone has seen TomKat's little tot and tall tales have gone wild. Some believe there is no baby while others wonder if baby Suri is an alien who has been sacrificed to the nutty Scientology peeps. With all of the speculation, it's kind of fun to wonder what ever happened to baby Suri. However, the truth is that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are just protecting their child from public scrutiny. Nothing more, nothing less. According to their spokesperson, "If and when they do make a decision, it will be at their discretion and not anybody else's."

Speaking of discretion... or lack thereof... Britney Spears has pulled a Demi Moore on the front cover of Harper's Bazaar. Photographed with nothing on, she said in an excerpt obtained by USA Today, "I'm not supposed to be this huge pregnant superstar." Truth be told -- she's just a 20-something year old woman still searching for herself as most of us are. I give Spears' props for all she's been through with the media and everything else.

James Gandolfini AKA Tony Soprano recently had to undergo "unexpected knee surgery," which pushes back the final eight episodes of "The Sopranos" from January to March. Boo!

Finally, legendary Johnny Cash topped the Billboard 200 with "American V: A Hundred Highways" and that rocks! After seeing "Walk the Line," Cash's story became well known by generations beneath him. He is a true role model to people who have battled addiction and other life "curveballs," and will continue to speak to us all via his music.
