Rosemary Beach - Part 3

The hardest story one has to write is one where you have nothing to complain about.
Day 3
Would you believe my wife was willing to go bike riding again? She had already biked more just yesterday, than she’d done in her lifetime. We rode our bike back to the Pensione for a good old-fashioned B&B breakfast. We ate a bread pudding and they offered me seconds. I partook of the seconds, as I was recently riding the bike and had burnt off more calories than normal.
Immediately after wards, Margherita had an appointment at the Solace Spa for a facial, and we rode onwards to the spa. She said she would get lost getting there, but there really was no way to get lost in this place, as the street plan is basically spokes on a big wheel.
Anyway, Margherita reported that the facial was wonderful and the facialist massaged her feet and hands as well. She tried explaining to me all of the herbs and stuff that were put on her face, but to me it sounded like she had just stuck her face in an herb garden and hoped for the best. She swears it was wonderful, and since she was all relaxed and mushy, I really didn’t care what herbs were put on her face as long as she enjoyed it.
While she was in the spa, I went to the Sky Pool, which is an indoor pool with an open roof. I had met the designer over the weekend and I complimented him on how well the pool was designed, but I now admit that I had no idea what I was talking about. I’ve never designed a pool, unless you count the time the washing machine broke and the basement flooded.
Well, it was back on the bikes and off to the Barbados pool, not to swim but for a barbecue lunch by the pool. Each of the pools are unique, and the Barbados pool, well, it looks like it belonged in Barbados.
Anyway, from the Barbados pool we toured a few of the other rental homes. They vary greatly depending on your needs. One home is owned by chefs and has a kitchen bigger than our entire first floor. Another has four bedrooms so you can have room for quite a few double dates. Think of your needs, and they have a fancy, dream house to rent.
Some of the houses even have pictures of the owners and their family, which made Margherita feel at home, but made me feel a bit intrusive and stalker-like.
Anyway, it was back to peddling off to the butterfly garden, which had, quite a few migrating Monarch Butterflies. I never knew butterflies to migrate, but they were everywhere. The air seemed filled with the butterflies, just like snowflakes during a light snowstorm.

It was time for my spa appointment where I had the quick executive massage. It’s a fast, comprehensive massage, but I loved the place because they had these five head showers. Everywhere you stood, you’re blasted by water. Also, I wasn't attacked by herbs like my wife.
I rode back to the room where Margherita was relaxing on the couch and watching TV. It was time to change and ride in our dress clothes, one last time to dinner.
Tonight we ate on Main Street again, at Meze, a Middle Eastern restaurant. It’s a mix of Middle-Eastern and modern food, giving a bit of a nouveau /Middle Eastern feel. Outside was the beach on one side, and an eclipse of the moon. The sky was so clear that you could count every star, and all around you, you could smell that familiar rosemary.
We walked back home (having left the bikes at the bike shop) and again took another romantic walk. This was too many firsts for one weekend. Anyway, back to the walk, Margherita noticed that some of the homes have oil-burning lamps, which she felt gave the place a very unique and romantic charm.

But that’s Rosemary Beach. There aren’t enough negatives to keep the story balanced. Obviously, we loved the place. It's beautiful, and relaxed. If you noticed, we never stepped foot in a car, and that was perfect for us. Once we got there, we stayed there and then we just walked or rode our bike where we wanted to go.
For the first time on vacation, we did nothing and just loved it. For three days, see what we did? We went to the beach, rode our bikes and ate fine food. It was a destination a bit too good to write about, so hopefully you’ll understand why I was concerned in the beginning.
