I Met Little Joe
In the 1960s, while the "Bonanza" craze was on and Little Joe, aka Michael Landon, was the man. I was in Fresno, Calif. at a local fundraiser. I was walking along looking at my fantastic celebrity pics that I had just picked up, when a man grabbed my hand and stopped me to ask how I was doing and told me that he was glad to meet me. I glanced up and was so engrossed in my pics that I almost kept on walking but noticed a cowboy hat and looked up into the face of Michael Landon. There must have been hundreds of people there but he made me stop to have a conversation with him. I was so starstruck that I couldn't say much of anything. I was only 12 years old, but I will never forget meeting Michael Landon, dressed as Little Joe. I told my mom that I was never ever going to wash my hands again, but of course she didn't let that happen. Thirty-plus years would be a long time to not wash my hands. I will never forget the kind 'famous' man whotook the time to speak to a 12 year old.
