‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave

Episode 1 Season Premiere

The first episode of Til Death Do Us Part, Carmen & Dave begin with the planning of Carmen and Dave’s wedding. Carmen states that all she wanted was a simple affair to be shared with close family and friends, but the event has quickly turned into a circus. Isn’t that what the eccentric couple wanted?

Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro met three years ago on a blind date set up by friends. Carmen was single and depressed at the thought of being alone forever. She jokingly stated that her only two options, after her failed romances, were to become a lesbian or to be alone and, then, she met Dave.

There was instant chemistry and the two became inseparable. Now they are planning their Hollywood wedding, to be celebrated near that fateful day when the two first met.

What’s interesting about these two is that you can tell they are really in love. They are very affectionate with each other and love to make each other laugh. Carmen and Dave’s wedding planner talks about bringing out "the classical side of Carmen," to which she quickly replies, "Outside of trailer trash, there is a side." Dave later asks Carmen and the planner, "Can we register at the bank?" The lovebirds seem to be having fun with their big day, despite the stressing details.

One such detail is the invitations. Carmen and Dave are very unique people, so naturally they opted for equally-unique invitations. The photographer, Dave La Chapelle, captured the two proclaiming their never-ending love... in a morgue. The couple’s invitation states that they are going to be together until death parts them and they have the picture to prove it!

Everything seems to be slowly coming into place for the wedding, as Dave’s father and step-mother stop by to see how things are going. They all chatted about how Dave should stop smoking, to which he replies that he has quit worse things recently and should be given a break. He doesn’t get upset, but just wants to get through his cigarette. Dave has cleaned up his act as he has left his days of heavy partying and drugging behind and is looking forward to having a new life with his bride.

An obvious obstacle to being a married Hollywood couple is the time commitments each has. This could mean time apart, and in some cases, time to grow apart, but Dave and Carmen have anticipated this and they've found a way to incorporate each other into the other’s professional life. We get to see Carmen as she attends a Jane’s Addiction video shoot and she gets to appear in it as well, which means time together with her hubby-to-be.

Carmen and Dave make an effort to have professional projects together, with this show obviously being one of them. They want every moment to themselves as they prepare to wed. If all goes as smoothly as it has been, this could be a hit show, a hit wedding, and a hit marriage.
