New England Patriots 2009 Headshots
New England Patriots defensive end Jarvis Green has undergone knee surgery and will miss an extended period of time, reports the Boston Herald. Green became the starting defensive end after the Patriots shipped long-time defensive end Richard Seymour to the Oakland Raiders.
According to ESPN, Green could miss anywhere from two weeks to a month. In his absence, the team is likely to start defensive lineman Mike Wright at defensive end. Wright will have to step up in Green’s absence, as Green is tied for 8th on the team with 23 tackles. The Patriots are coming off a bye week and seem to have a firm grip on first place in the AFC East.
