25-Oct-2009
Written by: Matthew Livi

The Houston Texans defeating the San Francisco 49ers 24-21.

In a closely contested game, the Houston Texans managed to hold off the San Francisco 49ers and win 24-21, reports the Associated Press. Running back Steve Slaton led the way, rushing for one touchdown and receiving another. The Texans defense also came up big, particularly in the first half, allowing only 50 yards, the fewest yards allowed in the first half in franchise history.
Matt Schaub also pitched in for the Texans, throwing for a couple of touchdown passes, states the Seattle Post Intelligencer. Schaub went 20-for-30 for 264 yards, leading the Texans to a 4-3 record. The 49ers, who started the season 3-1, are now 3-3.
