Natasha Henstridge and Harry Hamlin are pairing up to star in a Hallmark Channel movie, entitled “Family Gathering.”
Natasha Henstridge, who catapulted onto the Hollywood scene by playing the sexy yet deadly alien in the wildly popular “Species” horror movie franchise, will next star opposite ex-“L.A. Law” cast member Harry Hamlin in the Hallmark Channel film, “Family Gathering.”
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “The film, from Chesler Perlmutter Prods., centers on Lisa Rayborn (Henstridge), who returns home to her family farm where she finds new purpose training a sheep dog, Lucky, who not only helps her family save the farm but also becomes a town hero. Hamlin will play Lisa's brother, Jim, who helps manage the farm and partners with Lisa to train Lucky.”
“Family Gathering” was written by Kevin Commins and will be directed by John Bradshaw. Commins’s previous writing credits include the 2002 Judd Nelson Science Fiction family comedy television series, “Cybermutt,” the 2006 Charisma Carpenter drama television series, “Cheaters’ Club,” and the 2007 Stephen Collins drama television series, “Every Second Counts.” As for Bradshaw, his previous directing credits include the 2000 Daniel Baldwin/Penelope Ann Miller drama television series, “Killing Moon,” the 2000 Chris Sarandon thriller, “Reaper,” the 2002 Pete Postlethwaite crime comedy, “Triggerman,” and the 2006 dramatic short film, “Sleeping Dogs Lie.”
Lewis Chesler and David Perlmutter will executive produce the film with Rob Vaughn producing.
The filming of “Family Gathering” is set to begin this month in Canada and will premiere in 2010.
Henstridge most recently starred on the defunct ABC series, “Eli Stone,” and in the Ewan McGregor/Hugh Jackman thriller, “Deception.” Hamlin most recently starred on an episode of the CBS mystery television series, “Harper’s Island,” and in the 2008 Steve Zahn/Allen Covert comedy, “Strange Wilderness.”
