28-May-2009

Canadian supergroup has begun recording their lastest album in Chicago.
Canadian indie-rock supergroup Broken Social Scene has announced they’re working on a new album, according to Pitchfork. The group’s last album, Broken Social Scene, was released in 2005. Kevin Drew’s 2007 release, Spirit If . . ., featured many artists from the Broken Social Scene family, but wasn’t technically released under the band's name.
Each past Broken Social Scene album has had a different sound vibe and fans are interesting to hear the newest musical installment. When asked what the new album would sound like, Drew told Pitchfork, “I can’t tell you what this record will sound like, who from the other great bands will be involved, but I can tell you it feels amazing to be in Chicago recording.”
Broken Social Scene is a hodgepodge of Canadian artists ranging from Leslie Feist and Emily Haines of Metric to k-os and Andrew Whitman of Apostle of Hustle. The band is set to play multiple festivals this summer in the U.S. and abroad.
