Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Wilco, Erykah Badu, The Movers, Wynton Marsalis and others, got the crowd moving rhythmically at the Jazz Festival in New Orleans on Saturday.

Neo-soul singer Erykah Badu, the Movers and others pleased the crowd at the Jazz Fest in New Orleans on Saturday.

"She's so emotional," one viewer told The Associated Press in regards to Badu. "I love that about her."

"Erykah's lyrics are really moving," said another. "I find she touches and reaches people no matter what the age. She's really inspirational."

Big Sam's Funky Nation, a brass band, had made performances, following The Imagination Movers on another stage, and James Taylor.

"We love the Movers," said New Orleans resident Dan Pellerito, 35, as he bobbed and clapped with his kids, 4-year-old Sophia and 2-year-old Henry.

The rock group Wilco also made an appearance followed by jazz clarinetist Pete Fountain and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Marsalis played with The Jazz at Lincoln Center, an orchestra he directs, which is based in New York.

Altogether there are 12 stages for each of the recitalists at the Jazz Fest, which is expected to continue through Sunday and start again on Thursday.
