Written by: Andrew Randall

Champion skater Evan Lysacek will be skating at “Skating in Harlem” on April 6 in Central Park.

The 5th annual Skating with the Stars Gala will be at Wollman Rink in Central Park on April 6, starting at 6:00 p.m. and concluding at 9:00 p.m. During this event, guests will get a chance to skate with both, celebrities and champion skaters.

The show is headlined by 2009 World Champion Evan Lysacek. Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, 2009 World Silver Medalists, will also be featured.

Tai Babilonia and New York’s First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson are to be honored at the event.

Other skaters participating in the event include: 2006 champion Kimmie Meissner, six-time U.S. champion Todd Eldredge, Olympic bronze medalist Timothy Goebel, Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughes, Viktor Petrenko and American champion Alissa Czisny.

A VIP reception for some of the 600 guests will start at 6:00 p.m. and the general seating will open at 6:30 p.m. The program will commence at 7:25.

Individual tickets for the event are $300. Package prices range from $1,200 to $25,000.

Lysacek’s participation follows a busy season for him touring with the cast of Smucker’s Stars on Ice. He will start skating with the group on April 3 in Hershey, Pa., and end his run on April 11 in Portland, Maine.
