11-Jan-2009

The couple continues to mourn the loss of their son.
According to MTV.com and E! Online, John Travolta’s representative, Samantha Mast, has confirmed the actor and his wife will not attend Sunday night’s Golden Globe award ceremony.
On Jan. 2, the Travoltas' 16-year-old son, Jett, died from a seizure. It was known that Jett suffered from Kawasaki disease, which causes inflammation in the lymph nodes and can cause heart damage and inflamed blood vessels in young children. A memorial service was held Thursday near the family’s home in Florida.
Travolta had originally planned on attending the event in support of the animated movie, Bolt, in which he lends the voice for the lead character. The movie is nominated for two awards including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, a duet he performs with Miley Cyrus.
The Travoltas released a statement shortly after Jett’s passing, thanking their fans for their support.
