Open Call for a Universal Pictures Film
10-Jan-2009
Written by: Mic Mell
You can be in a film with major stars, without needing any experience!
A golden opportunity is available for a young man who wants to break into acting. A new high school comedy is set to be filmed with an all star cast, including Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, and Alec Baldwin.
Anyone can audition, and this is the perfect gig for someone with no prior experience. The search is for a 15 to 17-year-old male to play "Edward," a high school senior.
Open casting auditions are being held by Megan Larche Casting in Chicago and Toronto on January 17.
If you want or someone you know wants to create an online submission, the process is simple:
Find a quiet, well lit room, and film in front of a colored wall or wearing a colored shirt. Make sure the camera is at least showing 3/4 of your body.
Tell the camera your name, height, and hometown. Read one of the three scenes available at the Megan Larche site, and prepare your two best takes for submission. Don't read the scene to the camera, read it to whoever is holding the script, or to someone off camera. Make sure you include a resume with all your contact info, your age, and any acting experience you have.
You can then submit your audition by sending an email to edwardcasting@gmail.com or mail it to:
Attn: Edward Casting
1501 Broadway
Suite 2900
New York, NY 10036
All entries are due by January 16.
Good luck!
