The Travolta’s Return Stateside
6-Jan-2009
Written by: Elizabeth Carey

Actor John Travolta and family returned stateside, Monday evening, along with the ashes of his teenage son, Jett.

Obie Wilchombe, a Bahamian politician and friend of the family, confirmed Tuesday at a press conference that the family flew back late Monday night to their home in Ocala, Fla. after cremating their son and requested “respect for their privacy during this very difficult time.”

After an arduous weekend of uncertainty, actor John Travolta and actress wife Kelly Preston found closure after an autopsy on 16-year-old deceased son Jett Travolta was performed. According to CBC, the autopsy report concluded that Jett died of a seizure and that there was no sign of foul play. No funeral date has been set.

In recent years, the celebrity couple drew heavy criticism over their involvement with the church of Scientology and their fundamental denial of their son’s notable characteristics of Autism (a disease the religion adamantly rejects). Instead, they have declared that Jett suffered from Kawasaki disease which often leads to seizures and cited this disorder as the cause of his death on Friday.
