Rihanna to Keep It Covered in Malaysia

Singer honors country’s clothing rules.
Rihanna is known for her unique fashion choices and never disappoints. However, for a concert in Malaysia, she will keep it classy and not crazy.
The Associated Press reports that the singer, 20, will perform a concert in Malaysia on Feb. 13 and honor the country’s strict rules on what performers wear.
Most of Malaysia’s residents follow the Muslim religion and shun skimpy styles of clothing. This has affected performances by Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, and the Pussycat Dolls because protests would often ensue.
The organizers for the Pussycat Dolls show in 2006 were fined almost $3,000 for going against the regulations. Stefani admitted to making “a major sacrifice” for her show by wearing outfits that didn’t show a lot of skin.
Razman Razali, the managing director of Pineapple Concerts, said that Rihanna’s management “is aware of the country’s regulations and the difficulties of doing a show.”
A sector of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, who dubbed Lavigne’s dance moves on stage “too sexy,” said in an online article that Rihanna was “sexier and more dangerous” than Lavigne.
After the concert was announced in local newspapers, tickets for Rihanna’s show at the Kuala Lumpur stadium were selling very quickly, said ticket Web site Axcess.
