Broadway Show Moving to Connecticut
5-Jan-2009
Written by: Mic Mell

Dividing the Estate is grabbing another run in Hartford.

After a limited run at the Lincoln Center, Horton Foote's family affair, Dividing the Estate, is finding a new life in Hartford, Conn. With the exception of one cast member, the entire team is getting back together to put on the play from May 28 - July 5.

The play originally ran off-Broadway at Primary Stages during 2007, and moved to the Booth Theater in late 2008. The original run earned the play several accolades, including Best Playwright for Foote and the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play.

Foote is a Pulitzer Prize winner who is no stranger to big stage productions. The play will be at Hartford Stage during the Tony Awards, and the rumor mill is grinding with ideas that Dividing the Estate will bring home a couple awards.

Future life for the play after Hartford isn't clear yet. Many other theaters have expressed interest in staging their own productions.
