Pregnant Gossip Girl Actress Divorcing

“Gossip Girl” actress Kelly Rutherford is both pregnant and divorcing her husband of two years, German entrepreneur Daniel Giersch.
Kelly Rutherford, who currently stars on the CW hit show, Gossip Girl, and was a cast member on Fox’s Melrose Place, is putting an end to her two-year marriage to her husband, Daniel Giersch.
According to People.com, “Rutherford, 40, who is three months pregnant, filed for divorce on Dec. 30, citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’ Giersch filed for legal separation the same day.”
The couple has a 2-year-old son named Hermés Gustaf Giersch and this is Rutherford’s second marriage. She divorced her first husband, Carlos Tarajano, in January 2002. The union lasted a mere five months.
Yet the split was a bit shocking considering Rutherford’s comments on how her husband was helping their son get ready for the arrival of his new sibling. Rutherford’s due date is sometime in June.
“My husband actually found some really cute books about explaining to your kid about the baby that's coming and the mommy being pregnant and what goes on with the mommy and then what happens when you bring the baby home,” Rutherford told People.
Rutherford plays serial divorcée “Lily van der Woodsen” on Gossip Girl. She played “Megan Lewis” from 1996 to 1999 on Melrose Place.
