Actor Confirms “Thor” Rumors

It looks like the sure-to-be blockbuster is a go, after all.
British actor Kenneth Branagh has confirmed that he will indeed direct the comic book movie, according to IMDb.com.
Branagh’s most recent directorial work was 2007’s Sleuth, starring Sir Michael Caine and Jude Law. But the star is more famous for his onstage work.
Now that negotiations with Marvel bosses for the star to direct the film have ended, a release date has been set for 2010.
Thor is the story of a disabled medical student whose alter ego is the Norse god.
The film is sure to be a Hollywood blockbuster and Branagh is eager for the sure challenge.
“We’re getting the story and visual effects together and all of that is very exciting,” Branagh said.
