He Said, She Said: What Caused Spears/Federline Rift

Was it a classic case of miscommunication, or simply a relationship gone sour?
The public has been treated to both sides of the Spears/Federline saga recently. First the two surprised the world by getting hitched and having two young children in rapid succession, then suddenly split up about two years later. After a period of silence and wondering on the part of the general public, Britney Spears recently blamed the breakup on Federline leaving her and her children. Now Kevin Federline is sharing his own side of the story.
A classic case of he said, she said? Britney blamed Kevin, and now Kevin blamed Britney for the breakup, though he carefully left the door open on a possible future reconciliation. In an interview with People, Federline said that it came as a complete shock when Britney "blindsided" him and filed for divorce. However, he still made it clear that there are no hard feelings, as Spears is still "the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her."
Neither Spears nor Federline have been fighting publicly, though it is fascinating that neither acknowledges a responsibility for the ultimate breakup. Best of luck to whatever custody arrangement they work out in the future.
