Hudson’s Brother-in-Law Charged with Murder

Balfour formally charged with murder.
William Balfour, the estranged brother-in-law of Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson was formally charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of home invasion on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. According to the Associated Press, Balfour is connected to the shootings of Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew.
Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, were found dead on October 24, 2008 in Donerson’s home in Chicago. Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was found three days later.
William Balfour is the estranged husband of Julia King, Jennifer Hudson’s sister. Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis said Balfour is “confident in evidence” with the connection to him and the murders.
Balfour was arrested on Monday and prior to his arrest was held in custody of Chicago police due to a parole violation, but was a “person of interest.”
Jennifer Hudson has not yet spoken about the arrest of William Balfour or the formal murder charges.
