Reese Witherspoon Speaks Out About Marriage and Divorce

The actress speaks candidly on love in this week's Parade.
Reese Witherspoon reflected about marriage and divorce in Parade Magazine's November 23 issue. The 32-year-old actress ended her seven year marriage to her Cruel Intentions costar, Ryan Phillippe, in 2006. “There are things in my life that are hard to reconcile, like divorce,” the actress told Parade. “Sometimes it is very difficult to make sense of how it could possibly happen. Laying blame is so easy.”
Since the divorce, Witherspoon, mother of two, has been linked with her Rendition costar, Jake Gyllenhaal. Despite calling him “very supportive” in Vogue earlier this year, the actress stated that she is not ready to remarry. “Family is all we have in life, but I don’t know how I feel about marriage,” she said in Parade. “Obviously, I’m not far enough out of being married to think about doing it again.” While Witherspoon might not be ready for marriage yet, she is definitely still ready for love. “Things change,” she added. “But your ability to love remains intact. Oh, I have a lot of hope for love! I do!”
