Series narrator Ron Howard suggests the long awaited film is imminent.
Ron Howard has suggested that the long rumored Arrested Development movie is official, in an interview with Maxim.com.
“I think it’s looking very promising,” said Howard, “We’re still just lacking that one thing we need: a script.”
Howard went on to say that Mitchell Hurwitz, the series creator, was focused on the task and would also direct the potential movie.
These statements come after several cycles of numerous hints followed by complete silence from those involved with the dearly departed sitcom. It went off the air in 2006 after just three seasons and 53 episodes.
The series has been lauded as one of the best sitcoms in TV history and claimed six Emmys before its end. It starred Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, David Cross, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, Jeffrey Tambor and Alia Shawkat as the highly dysfunctional Bluth family.
According to Howard, both the studio and cast seem ready to move forward with a film adaptation, along with one very excited narrator.
