Wanda Sykes Celebrates Gay Pride

Comedian Wanda Sykes came out at a rally in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Wanda Sykes, known to millions as the comedian who can make anybody laugh, had another reason to smile this weekend. The hardworking comic came out this weekend in Las Vegas, while showing solidarity at a rally against Proposition 8. Sykes proclaimed, "I'm proud to be a black woman, and I'm proud to be gay." Proposition 8 has inspired a number of rallies throughout the country since its defeat at the polls in California. The proposition would have legalized same-sex marriage in the Golden State.
Sykes is known as a comedian and a loyal friend to fellow actors/comedians, appearing in a wide variety of television and movie cameos. Sykes stole the show in Monster-in-Law, even though pitted against heavyweights Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez.
